Register for flu vaccine in Warrington

Health Chiefs have asked people at greatest risk from flu to register and get themselves their free flu vaccine. Especially since winter is fast approaching, it is better to take the flu jab as soon as possible.

The people at highest risk are pensioners aged 65 or over, pregnant women, and those with health conditions such as severe asthma, chest or heart complaints and diabetes. People in these high risk categories are advised to visit their GP to get vaccinated.

Caregivers and frontline health and social care staff are also encouraged to protect themselves and those around them by taking their shots in time.

A spokesman said: “The flu vaccine changes every year to fight the latest strains of flu, so even if you had a jab last winter you need another one this year.”
